The fine print, in plain words
Privacy policy
This covers how South Bend Computer Repair handles your information when you use our repair services, Computer Care Plans, business services, and this website. Last updated August 2026.
Information we collect
When you bring us a repair, book a service, or join a Computer Care Plan, we collect what we need to do the work: your contact details (name, phone, email, and a service address if we come to you), your device and repair history, and transaction and invoice records. Care Plan members’ enrolled computers also report basic health information (things like antivirus status, updates, and drive health) so we can catch problems early.
Payments
Card payments are processed by our payment processor. We never store full card numbers — we keep only a secure payment token and the last four digits, so we can bill plans you’ve signed up for and issue refunds. We will never ask for your bank login or passwords.
How we use your information
To provide and bill for repairs, services, and plans; to send service messages like repair status updates and receipts; to monitor and protect enrolled devices; and to keep our own business and accounting records. We don’t sell personal information — ever.
How we share information
Only with the service providers that help us operate: our payment processor, the security and monitoring tools that protect Care Plan machines, and our accounting software. Each gets only what it needs to do its job.
Text messages (SMS)
With your consent, we send service-related text messages to the mobile number you give us — repair status updates, drop-off and pickup notices, plan and payment reminders, and post-service review requests. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP any time to opt out, HELP for help, or call us at (574) 444-9910. Consent to texts is never a condition of any purchase.
Your mobile information will not be sold or shared with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes.
The monitoring is one-way
Care Plan monitoring works like a smoke detector that pings the shop: it reports device health, it does not open your files, read your email, or watch your screen. Nobody connects to your computer unless you call and start the connection yourself — and when you cancel, our monitoring comes off your machine and our access ends with it.
Security & retention
Information travels over encrypted (HTTPS) connections and is kept only as long as needed for the purposes above or as the law requires.
